2024.08.21

Chairman Akio Toyoda held a talk with Century owners in Shanghai, China. What did these young leaders in various industries learn from the chairman's words?

“I thought it would be good to have a Century suitable for future leaders. (...) We want to deliver this to the leaders who have the will to make the future better and will strive for more growth.”

These words were spoken by Chairman Akio Toyoda at a celebration at the Tahara Plant in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture, in December 2023.

Sales of the Century have since begun in China. In this episode, we cover a discussion Chairman Akio held with the owners there.

Gathered here are five owners who, despite their young average age of 38, are influential and active in their respective fields. Among them are car lovers who own multiple vehicles, choosing one that best fits their mood each time. For these young leaders, what does a day for driving a Century feel like?

During the discussion, many questions were asked of Chairman Toyoda, with his many hats as executive, master driver, and Morizo. There were also requests to introduce the GRMN, of which only one has ever been made in the world, to China.

Chairman Toyoda answered questions one by one as the leaders listened carefully. Although the entire event had a relaxed atmosphere, the participants seemed to change their image of the Century after hearing the chairman’s thoughts on cars and management.

After the discussion, one young leader called the Century a car “for a lifetime.” To find out the meaning behind this statement, watch the video for yourself!
