Toyota has once again swept the podium at Rally Finland in the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). Here, we take a closer look behind the scenes of this fierce race.
Round 10 of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), Rally Finland, was held from July 30 to August 2.
The winner was 24-year-old Finland native Sami Pajari. Following his first-ever WRC win at Round 9, Rally Estonia, Pajari claimed back-to-back victories with his first win on home soil.

Takamoto Katsuta, who finished second at Rally Finland in 2025, entered this year’s race with the same unwavering determination, saying, “Getting a good result here proves that you’re a good driver.”
The race, however, turned chaotic when torrential rain on Day 2 reduced visibility, costing Katsuta time and dropping him to 8th place.
On the final day, he climbed back up to 5th overall, but suffered a heartbreaking crash near the end. Still, spectators greeted him with warm applause as he fought his way to the finish. Be sure to watch this footage of Katsuta as he forges onward, cheered on by local residents.
This Toyota Times also covers a hands-on hydrogen activity area set up at the rally venue. Miniature rocket launches and cooking demonstrations gave visitors of all ages a fun introduction to the energy of the future.
The hydrogen used at the event was produced by a local Finnish company using water from a nearby lake. The rally was not only a motorsports event but a major opportunity to showcase hydrogen’s potential to the local community.
