We are not pursuing carbon neutrality for racing alone. We are working on expanding the options for drop-in carbon neutrality, with the term “drop-in” expressing our desire to use what we develop through racing in existing cars without having to modify it.

At the investigative stage, we were using fuel for European races. Before this year’s racing started, we switched to a fuel aimed at JIS standards for the domestic market and have been using it for the past year.

There was an issue with dilution, but we improved the way the engine unit used fuel and were able to improve the reliability and output, which had been suppressed.

Additionally, since we cannot leave issues that are present in vehicles already on the market, we are proposing fuel properties to fuel manufacturers while sharing our know-how with Subaru, who is also racing with us.

Furthermore, although we have yet to be able to address cost issues, we would like to fully consider the trade-off between fuel efficiency and output so that it can be used in existing vehicles without modification.

Firstly, I would like to say congratulations and thank you to everyone here, the people participating in “making ever-better cars,” suppliers, and all else involved.

I believe 2022 was a year that brought us closer to our future, with everyone from the cars and drivers to the mechanics and engineers battling with purpose and continuing to strive forward one step, two steps further than last year.

I think everyone felt and realized that it is possible to demonstrate tremendous power when everyone works toward a common goal with purposeful passion.

I would like to continue this circle of empathy and togetherness into 2023.
