2026.10.28

Children from all over the world submitted 260,000 entries to the 19th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest. Let's take a look at the winning entries and a special exhibition happening in Yokohama!

The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest invites children aged 15 and under from around the world to imagine and draw the mobility of the future. Since the contest began in 2004, children from 153 countries and regions have submitted a total of approximately 10 million entries.

This time, for the 19th contest, roughly 260,000 entries were submitted from 87 countries and regions. On this week’s program, we’ll see the grand prize winners from the three age-based categories, along with the winners of two special awards, take a look at how they were selected, and hear some joyful messages from the winners.

One of the special awards, the “Let’s Change the Future of Cars Award,” was judged by Chief Branding Officer (CBO) Simon Humphries. Which artwork particularly caught his eye? Watch the video to find out!

The contest has a lasting impact on the winning children. Malindu Mihisara, a 2018 winner from Sri Lanka, is now a university student studying AI. Reflecting on his experience, he said, “Toyota Dream Car made a platform for me to share my ideas with a global audience. Don’t be afraid of dreaming.”

Some of the entries can be viewed at THE MOVEUM YOKOHAMA, as part of an immersive art event organized by Toyota Group at Yamashita Pier in Yokohama.

The first immersive event was held from December 2025 through June 2026. The second edition, featuring “The Impressionist Artist Monet and Ukiyo-e,” opens on October 24, 2026. Children’s dream car drawings will also be featured in displays or immersive video screenings at the museum.

The event is scheduled from October 24, 2026, to March 31, 2027. It is open to the public, and junior high school students and under are admitted for free. Take a look at the video and the link below for more information.
